VolunteeringIn 2010-2011, volunteers donated over 7,620 hours! Volunteers assist us in every department - doing everything from repairing and processing materials, to assisting in programs, to bringing books to the homebound. In addition, every summer, over 100 teens in grades 7-12 assist us with our ever popular Summer Reading Club! When positions are open, a job description is listed here. Teens can join the Teen Advisory Board (TAB). Another way to volunteer is to be part of the Friends of IPPL. |
DonateEvery day the Indian Prairie Public Library helps people learn, explore new ideas, find enjoyment, improve their lives, and experience a sense of community. You can play a role in this worthy endeavor by contributing to the library's Foundation. Contributions are also great ways to commemorate a person or an event. There are several ways that donors are recognized including the brick path in the Reading Garden and the Donor Tree in the lobby. Click here to see some of the brick inscriptions. Click here to buy a brick. The Foundation is a tax-deductible, 501(c)3 organization, so your support qualifies as a charitable contribution. Find out more about the Foundation. |
BooksDonations of gently used materials that are in good condition may be made to the Friends of IPPL for sale in the Inspiration Cafe or at the annual used book sale. Materials may be dropped off at the library. While we cannot provide the value of the donated items, we will provide a receipt. The Friends accept:
They do not accept encyclopedias and textbooks. |
