Book a Librarian

Need one-on-one personal reference assistance to help you with your informational needs?  Whether you need to research a major paper, find out more about an illness, track down consumer information or request an in-depth demonstration of how to use the library's online catalog, we can help you. 

The Book a Librarian service allows you to reserve up to one hour with a professional reference librarian. 

HOW IT WORKS

• A minimum of three days notice.

• Make an appointment (available Monday through Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Thursday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.; and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.) by contacting the Reference Desk at 630/887-8760 ext. 240 with your request. Make sure you ask for the Book a Librarian service.

• Each request will be analyzed and routed to the appropriate content expert on staff who will call to schedule your personal appointment within five days.

• Book a Librarian is available only to Indian Prairie cardholders.
