The Indian Prairie Public Library is seeking a part-time Adult Services Page. If you love working with people, consider joining our team. Job duties include sorting materials for shelving, loading and moving fully loaded book carts, shelving materials, and shelf-reading the collection to assure books are in proper order.
Part-time 10-12 hours per week, including evening and weekend hours -- $8.77 per hour
The library is looking for people with enthusiasm and ideas. We offer a dynamic, engaging team environment that values initiative and each individual. Applicants must have a commitment to excellent customer service, a friendly manner and be a self starter. Candidates must be able to work a flexible schedule including days, evenings, and weekends. Other requirements are a basic knowledge of the arrangement of books in a library. Ability to arrange in alphabetical and numerical order (test required). Ability to pay attention to detail. Ability to move loaded book carts and bins, and to lift and shelve library materials as required.

Early Literacy Librarian

We are seeking an extraordinary Early Literacy Librarian.
The Early Literacy Librarian provides library services to all youth with an emphasis on serving young children from 0-6 years old, their caregivers, and schools. This includes planning, organizing and coordinating a comprehensive program of traditional, virtual, and cutting edge services for this age group. The Early Literacy Librarian works actively and collaboratively with the other members of the department to support the library's mission and strategic plan.
Qualifications include Master of Library Science degree from an ALA accredited school including specialization in youth services. Minimum of two years of public library experience with emphasis on working with young children. Applicants must have excellent communication and collaborative skills, a commitment to excellent customer service, a friendly manner and sense of humor and demonstrated initiative. The salary is $41,517.00+ DOQ and includes IMRF pension plan, health insurance, life and disability insurance, and paid holidays, vacation, sick and personal time. The position works 37.5 hours/week including days, evenings and weekends.
The Indian Prairie Public Library District is located in Darien Illinois serving 42,000 residents in the communities of Darien, Willowbrook and Burr Ridge.
