Power Failure

In the event of an electrical power or HVAC failure of more than 30 minutes, the person in charge may close the library when it is dark or when the room temperature falls below 65 degrees or above 82 degrees. The person in charge will notify the Executive Director or the Board President.

Extreme Weather

The library may be closed or not opened in the event of heavy snows or other emergency weather conditions. The Executive Director will make the decision. In her absence or unavailability, the Deputy Director will make the decision. The Board President should be notified immediately. The Executive Director or person in charge will initiate staff notification.

Emergency and Disaster Plans

The library will maintain Emergency and Disaster Plans. Each plan will be reviewed annually and updated as needed by the Deputy Director. Librarians in charge will review the emergency plan annually.
